Description:
Çevre Bakanlığı'nca desteklenen MEDPAL projesi kapsamında yer alan "Mersin
Körfezinde Ötrofikasyon izleme ve değerlendirme" çalışması yanısıra TÜBİTAK-TARAL
tarafından desteklenen Mersin körfezi hidrodinamik + ekosistem modellernesi proje çalışması ile
Avrupa Birliği Entegre Projesi (FP6 2006 Global 4, Southem European Seas: Assessing and
Modelling Ecosystem changes - SESAME : Güney Avrupa Denizleri: Ekosistemdeki
Değişimlerin Değerlendirilmesi ve Modellernesi) kapsamında deniz çalışmaları yapılmış,
yerinde ölçümler yanısıra deniz suyu örnekleri alınmıştır. İlk gün MEDPAL çalışmasını 2 gün
süreli TARAL proje çalışması izlemiştir. Çalışmanın bitiminde SESAME seferine katılacak
misafir araştıncıyı almak üzere Tırtar limanına dönülmüştür. SESAME seferi başlangıçta kötü
hava koşulları nedeni ile direkt İskenderun körfezine yol alınarak başlatılmış olup sorunsuz bir
şekilde tamamlanmıştır . Hava tahmin raporlarına bağlı olarak yapılması arzulanan birkaç
istasyon atlanmıştır. Ayrıca sefer başından sonuna değin sorunsuz bir şekilde yüzey suyu
fluorometre cihazına su pompa1anarak hatlar boyunca kesintisiz yüzey klorofil ölçümü
yapılmıştır.
